A. M. F. Robinson (1857-1944)



Agnes Mary Frances Robinson, English poet and scholar on many subjects concerning France, French literature, and French History. Called Agnes-Marie-Francois Darmesteter after her first marriage to James Darmesteter in 1888, and Agnes Mary Frances Duclaux after a second marriage to Prof. Emile Duclaux, Director of the Pasteur Institute in Paris in 1901. Educated in Brussels, Italy, and at University College, London. She published about 30 books; Collected Poems (1901), Arden: A Novel (1888), La Vie de Emile Duclaux (1907), etc. (H. N.)
